On January 22, 2011, World Gym launched the new Fitness Class Campaign, "Let's Move" for Group Power, Group Kick, Group Ride, and Group Step!

What is Group Power?

Group Power is your hour of power! This 60-minute barbell program strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors. With simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power is for all ages and fitness levels. Discover results - discover Group Power!

What is Involved in Class?

Group Power uses moves from traditional strength training and programs these movements to music, creating a simple, fun, and effective way to train in groups. The class starts with a comprehensive warm-up, followed by eight songs that focus on specific muscle groups, and finishes with a well-earned stretch.

Who is Group Power for?

Group Power is for just about anybody, aiming to remove the barriers of age, gender, and fitness background. Whether you are an inactive person interested in getting fit or an athlete looking for a training edge, Group Power delivers.

  • Group Power at World GymNew exercisers will be successful in Group Power because of the simplicity of the class. It is a great starting point to develop strength and confidence.
  • Group Power is fantastic for women because it is a form of weight-bearing exercise, which is proved to reduce the incidence of osteoporosis.
  • Group Power is perfect for the time-pressed exerciser. Two time a week is all you need to get results fast!
  • Even the serious weight trainers of the world marvel that Group Power is great to work the muscles in a different way.

How Often Can You Do Group Power?

Group Power is designed to be done 2-3 times per week, and you should not exceed 3 times in one week. It is not a case of the more you do the better. For at least your first month of Group Power, twice a week is sufficient. A schedule that allows for two days of rest between class experiences is ideal.

Group Kick at World Gym

What is Group Kick?

Group Kick brings it on! This electric 60-minute fusion class of martial arts and boxing movements will kick your cardio fitness to the next level while defining and shaping your body and self-confidence! Energetic music, awesome instructors, and a group environment will keep you punching, kicking, and smiling. Group Kick will knock you out!

What is Involved in Class?

Group Kick borrows movements from boxing, kickboxing, and various martial art disciplines and programs these movements to dynamic music, creating a simple, fun, and effective method to workout in groups.

The class starts out with a comprehensive warm-up, then moves along with specific songs that offer effective sequencing for quick learning and a suitable work-to-rest ratio. The class ends with a stretch and cool down that offers not only physical, but mental and relaxation benefits.

Who is Group Kick for?

Group Kick is for anyone wanting a challenging, athletic and motivating workout in a realistic time frame.

  • Group Kick at World GymIt is great for new exercisers, as you have the ability to adjust the level of the class to suit yourself
  • Group Kick is great for cross trainers wanting to add variety to their training like timing, precision, and focus

How Often Can You Do Group Kick?

Because Group Kick is a cardiovascular training class, you can do it once a week or you can do it most every day.

As a beginner to exercise, you wouldn't want to do too much too soon. As fitness increases, your recovery improves so you can increase your workout frequency.

Group Ride at World Gym

What is Group Ride?

Everyone finishes first in Group Ride! Pedal in groups, roll over hills, chase the pack, climb mountains and spin your way to burning calories and strengthening your lower body. This 60-minute cycling program is geared for anyone that can ride a bike. Motivating music, awesome instructors and an inspiring group environment lets you Ride On!

What is Involved in a Class?

Group Ride uses cycling principles and matches speeds, positions and resistance levels to music, creating a simple, fun, and effective way to cardio train in groups. The class is broken up into nine songs of different terrains, speeds, and intensity. One minute you will be climbing the Alps, the next minute you will be hanging onto the back of a peloton, just cruising... all to a jamming soundtrack.

Group Ride has very controlled speeds to ensure that everyone can "keep up." As you gain confidence and increase your fitness level, you just keep cranking up the resistance to work harder and challenge yourself even more.

Who is Group Ride For?

Group Ride attracts many different users because of the ability to ride your own bike and control the gears. Group Ride is for anybody who wants to improve their cardiovascular fitness, burn calories, burn fat, shape and strengthen their lower body and have fun doing it.

Group Step utilizes the step as an effective training tool and encourages self-regulated progression by changing step heights. Athletic movements are set to emotive music, creating a simple, fun and effective way to cardio train and strengthen the lower body all within a group environment. The class starts with a fun warm-up, followed by eight songs with specific training objectives, and ends with a well-earned stretch.

Who is Group Step For?

  • Group Step at World GymGroup Step is for anyone who wants an energetic, exciting and results-oriented step workout.
  • New exercisers will appreciate the many options available in Group Step. From step height to movement variations, the intensity is up to you!
  • Group Step is great for cross training or for those who would like to add variety to their routine.
  • Group Step will appeal to both the experienced and new stepper because it is less complex than many step classes in recent years. We've taken out the fancy stuff and put back the fun!
